Systems structure & system thinking for improving results in a world of change

Abstract
Several important characterstics of viable business systems are discussed. Viable business systems comprise operations and operations management, relate to an external environment and are largely self-organizing and self-controlling. System structure that include an information system and environmental relationships is also discussed. System structure creates the capability for self-organization and self-control to achieve company goals.
