From cost management to profit management
Abstract
Some basic measures are presented for cost managers to focus their management skills on profit improvement and profit management. Managing revenue to a targeted goal and managing fixed costs to a selected level less than revenue produce desired profit. Action plans are developed to increase the volume of high-contribution products and transactions, improve the low ones and develop new, high contribution products.
